What can be washed?
There are various surfaces you will find around your property that can be improved by having them regularly washed. These surfaces range from concrete, asphalt, decking, fencing, stonework, vinyl siding, wood siding, gutters, fascia, soffits, windows, doors, and patio furniture.
What will i need?
In order to properly wash most if not all of the surfaces you'll find around your property, you'll need to purchase or rent a pressure washer that is capable of producing 4000psi with a water-flow of at least 4 gallons per minute. This will ensure that you have the proper equipment to complete the job in the most effective and timely manner.
washing 101 - the basics
Washing any surface requires 3 things. 1) Water 2) Agitation 3) Surfactant
Water: This is what does the cleaning. Most people think that soap makes things clean but indeed it's the water that does all the work.
Agitation: This is what mobilizes soluble matter so that it can be absorbed and rinsed away by a flow of water.
Surfactant: This is what allows water to penetrate soluble matter and flush it away. Many people believe the myth that soap (surfactants) are what clean any given surface but soap only helps water penetrate soluble matter so that it can be flushed away.
When you have Water, Agitation, and Surfactant in the right combination, you stand the best chance of cleaning any given material.
How the 3 basics work together
As previously stated, water is what does all the cleaning. That isn't to say that water is all you need, but water is the main character in the plot against dirty, grime, etc. The agitation and surfactant work together with water to penetrate into the surface and suspend the soluble matter so that it can be rinsed off.
